Drag Performance

We go to the theatre to see people do stuff we’re not brave enough to do”.

Anthony has Tourette Syndrome and spent his youth as a “disabled queer ethnic” hiding in his room. As an adult, Anthony has decided not to hide anymore and now spends his evenings as the most visible person in the room – Peach Fuzz.

As promised, I must try my guest’s activity, this means that for this episode I dress up as a drag queen and perform on stage – in a drag competition no less!

Join me for the first episode of my journey to discover what brings people meaning and connection.

About the Podcast

Towards Connection
I'm willing to take risks and get uncomfortable in an Australia-wide search for what brings people meaning and connection.
Do you have enough connection and meaning in your life? What does this even mean and why does it matter?

Follow me – Kai, on a camping trip around Australia, meeting people who have found meaning and connection in their life.

Learn how they discovered it, how it has changed their life and why it is so powerful.

Then, join me as I try their activity out for myself, throwing myself into it with genuine curiosity and unbridled effort in an attempt to bring more meaning and connection into my life… who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to try something new yourself.

Kai Noonan

Towards Connection is my first (and so far only) podcast. It was a bit of an experiment, an adventure and remains a passion project.

My professional background is in social services, specialising in sexual, domestic and family violence. I didn't get into this work to help people, I got into it because I find people fascinating. Especially in their darkest hours.

I believe we all just fumble through life doing the best we can with whatever experiences and resources we have. I also believe that everyone has a story to tell, and I want to hear those stories.
